Group Tours

Visiting a college campus is a great way to show students, organizations, and community members the possibilities of a college education. From a walking tour of campus to meeting current AC students, group visits enable students and guests to see college as an attainable goal.

Reservations are required for group visits and should be scheduled at least four weeks in advance. Should you need to cancel your visit, we ask for 48 hours’ notice, if possible (excluding weather-related or unavoidable issues).

We also offer customized group visits for middle school students. Due to the high volume of prospective students we host on a daily basis and special events, we are currently not hosting elementary school groups. Please see other options for this age group below.

How to schedule a tour:

Elementary school groups may enjoy a group tour of the Amarillo Museum of Art (AMoA), and/or a self-guided tour of the AC campus.

      Group Visit Expectations

      Group Ratios

Chaperones are required to accompany the group at all times during the visit and tour.

Our required ratio for group visits is 1 adult to 10 students.

Our tour guides are trained to provide you with an excellent visit and not to control the behavior of visiting students. If students become too disruptive on a tour, the tour guides are authorized to end the tour immediately.

Group rosters must be submitted 72 business hours before the campus tour.

      Timely Arrival

Arriving on time is vital. If you are running late, please contact Campus Visits at 806-371-5000.

Facilities and tour guides’ schedules are limited, so in the event of a late arrival, timed activities will likely be adjusted.

      Appropriate Dress

The visit will include a substantial amount of walking, and the majority of the time will be spent outside.

Check the weather before your visit and encourage all students to wear comfortable clothing and shoes.

Expect the group tours to be 3–4 hours.

      Reciprocal Respect

AC welcomes your group to our campus! AC is an educational institution, so we ask that your group shows respect to the college and its students, faculty, and staff. Failure to do so can result in the early conclusion of the visit.

Students should understand the professional academic atmosphere of the campus and be prepared to represent their school positively at all times.

      Cancellation

If you find it necessary to cancel your visit, we appreciate that you give at least two days’ notice.

      Scheduling

A minimum of four weeks' notice is required to book your tour.

If you would like to schedule an individual tour, please see the section on this page labeled Individual.
