The QUEST scholarship program wants to ensure that all QUEST eligible Dumas students, now and in the future, are able to attend college.

The QUEST  program is a "last money in" scholarship program guaranteeing access to a college education for every qualifying Dumas High School student.  The program pays tuition, books, and fees for up to 66 semester hours at Amarillo College Moore County Campus for fall and spring semesters.

QUEST Provides...

 Access to higher education for students of Dumas High School.

 Numerous college bound activities throughout high school and college for participating students, which include:

  1. On-going support during high school to encourage attendance and grades.
     
  2. Field trips to Amarillo College campuses.
     
  3. Assistance in the completion of the Amarillo College general application, scholarships, Student Support Services application and financial aid.
     
  4. FAFSA workshops to assist students when applying for federal financial aid.
  5. Career exploration.
     
  6. Special student services at Amarillo College Moore County Campus.
     
  7. On-going support for all QUEST college students from the Amarillo College Moore County Campus Advising Department.

 Payment for tuition, fees, and books at Amarillo College through federal and private dollars. All federal and private aid is applied PRIOR to awarding QUEST scholarship funds.


Requirements for QUEST

  1. Remain continuously enrolled at Dumas High School until graduation
     
  2. Graduate from Dumas High School within four (4) years
     
  3. Annually sign a written pledge to maintain:
  • An 80 grade point average or above
  • 95% attendance rate (including excused absences)
  • Appropriate behavior
  1. Complete the following by the deadline set during the students graduation year:
  • Applications for federal financial aid (FAFSA)
  • Applications for general scholarships
  • Application for admission to Amarillo College
  • Release of Information Form
  • Testing
  1. While in college, students must:
  • Attain a 2.50 GPA each semester
  • Successfully complete at least 12 hours each semester
  • Complete FAFSA each academic year
