If you like to cook but can’t seem to find the time to prepare a healthy and tasty meal for you and your family, Healthy Cooking 101 might be your cup of tea.
It’s one of several new cooking classes being offered through the Continuing Education branch of Amarillo College this Fall semester. Michele Lancaster, a local Home Economics Teacher of the Year, will instruct a variety of cooking classes from September through November at the Saladmaster location, 5562 Bluebird St., along I-27.
Along with Healthy Cooking 101, Lancaster will serve as instructor for 30-Minute Meals, Holiday Favorites, and Elf on the Shelf. You can find and register for these classes (view descriptions, too) at www.actx.edu/ce.
Also new this Fall is Gourmet Cooking with Ashley, also at Saladmaster, which will be taught by Ashley Paredes, a member of the La Fiesta Grande restaurant family. Participants will explore a different cuisine each week (classes are 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays throughout October) from countries such as Italy, France and Mexico.
