Amarillo College Trauma Academy
The Amarillo College Trauma Academy is proud to announce our 2026 course schedule for two of the most prestigious advanced trauma care certifications: Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN).
Through our site approvals with the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Trauma Nurses, these courses provide a standardized, systematic approach to the "golden hour" of trauma care, equipping providers with life-saving skills and clinical confidence.

Advanced Trauma Life Support
Full Provider – Initial Certification
The ACS Committee on Trauma developed a program with one safe, reliable method for assessing and initially managing the trauma patient.
CME hours provided by ACS.

Advanced Trauma Life Support
Recertification
Provides physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs) the opportunity to maintain a current status. The participants must have a current ATLS provider card or be within a six-month grace period after expiration.
Only eligible to current ATLS verified clinicians.
1/2 day in length
Content overview, written and practical tests included.

Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses
Initial Certification
Comprehensive and advanced educational program specifically tailored for registered nurses who seek to enhance their expertise in the management of patients suffering from multiple traumatic injuries.
- Registrants must have their RN
- Recommended 6 months of RN experience for registrants
CNE hours provided from STN.
- Dates: June 12 – 13, 2026
- Course Start Time: 0730
- 2-Day, 16-hour initial certification
- Cost: $525
