In keeping with the Mission and Values of Amarillo College, the Sonography Program has as its mission “to provide a comprehensive educational environment that will prepare the sonography graduate to effectively engage in the daily challenges and responsibilities required of a competent and professional entry-level Sonographer.”

Consequently, accomplishing this mission is measured and evaluated to the degree to which the program achieves the following five goals:

• Produce graduates who are knowledgeable, skilled and compassionate as they execute the responsibilities of a medical sonographer.

• Produce graduates who are clinically competent.

• Produce graduates who can exhibit effective critical thinking and problem solving skills.

• Produce graduates who can express appropriate communication skills.

• Produce graduates who will demonstrate professional development and growth and a desire for life-long learning.
