The reward of students being enlightened by something he said or facilitated is what Don likes the most about teaching.  He believes that knowing to speak well helps to strengthen ones communication skills and organize ones thoughts.  He enjoys backpacking and fixing things.

He was born and raised in Midland, TX and attended F. Austin State University where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech & RTV-Film.  He also attended Scarritt College where he received an M.A. in Christian Education.  Later he graduated from West Texas A&M University with an M.A. in Mass Communication.  

Among all the T.V shows, his favorite is The Groucho Marx Show.
