Jay is from La Marque, TX.  His favorite show is M.A.S.H and he likes to spend time with his family, playing games and watching TV together.  He also likes working on projects around the house and spending time in church.

Jay believes that speech gives you confidence in whatever you do and what he likes about teaching is to "see the light that comes on when he is working with students.  He loves that moment when he can connect with the students.  He also enjoys learning from them, the passion they have about the subject and what they can teach him and the other students in the class.

Before obtaining his M.A. in Communication from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre from Texas Tech, he graduated from the College of the Mainland with an A. A in Electronics and from East Texas Baptist College where he obtained a Bachelors of Music in All-Level Music Education.
