Women to take part in intensive exploration of technical careers at AC’s East Campus
The event is free and open to the first 55 women who register. It is from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes breakfast, lunch and a great deal of active participation.
Participants will engage in intensive career exploration that includes hands-on seminars related to occupations in machining, welding, instrumentation and electronics, diesel and automotive technology, aviation maintenance and more.
Check-in begins at 8 a.m. in the East Campus Student Services Center. An official welcome will be extended at 8:30. Attendees will then be divided into small groups and participate in hands-on seminars in and around the Transportation Career Center and the Manufacturing Education Center — from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., when lunch will be served.
Everyone will have a chance to get their hands dirty at each of the career-specific stations on the tour.
After lunch, a Women in Industry panel discussion will feature representatives of local AC industry partners like ASARCO, Midwest Machine, Aardvark Automotive, Premier Truck Group, and Phillips 66.
