College once again to host Mayor’s Breakfast for Friends of Young Children

YoungChild2hpEach year during the Week of the Young Child (April 16-20 in 2018), the mayor and community attend a breakfast at AC to honor those who teach, lead and create excellence in the foundational years of early childhood.

This year’s breakfast will be served in the Oak Room of the College Union Building on AC’s Washington Street Campus.

The guest of honor will be Tweet, who recently retired as director of the Amarillo Parks and Recreation Department. Under Tweet’s leadership, the city installed the first playground in Amarillo with equipment that is fully accessible to children with disabilities — in Medipark.

The Mayor’s annual breakfast is hosted by AC’s Childhood Development and Education departments, the Panhandle Association for the Education of Young Children, and the Panhandle Early Childhood Educators.

To learn more about the event or to RSVP, please call the AC Education Department at (806) 371-5188.
