Future Billionaires Club to Host “Innovate U” at AC April 23

Amarillo College students and members of the Future Billionaires Club have created the first “Innovate U” event for AC students and employees to showcase their businesses set for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 23 at the Oeschger Family Mall at AC’s Washington Street campus.

“We wanted to showcase our club by working with student and staff businesses,” said Christian Flores, a biology major and one of the event organizers. “There are so many talented students who work and/or have own their own business in addition to taking classes. Anyone is welcome to come check out these businesses.”

The group also hopes the event will help these student and staff entrepreneurs to network and build valuable connections on campus.

“Many students and employees own a business or are a partner in a business,” Rashmi Pillai, said AC’s program coordinator for Business Technology. “We are finding out we have student and employees who own business that offer services such a hair styling, personal training, building fences, marketing services, podcasting, video editing and pet services.

Businesses who register for the event and are accepted will have a table and poster for the event. Selling products on–site is not allowed. Owners may provide samples. Other examples of business types ideal for this event include home and garden; health and wellness; food and beverage; real estate; and IT services.
