AC Music Department to Host Concert Celebrating Latin-American Music
The Amarillo College Music Department invites the community to a lively evening of music, food, and fun at its annual Fiesta Concert, showcasing a program of music from and inspired by Latin-American traditions.
The concert will take place at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, in the Amphitheatre (PIT) and mall area behind the Music Building and Experimental Theatre on AC’s Washington Street Campus. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs for a festive outdoor experience.
The event will feature performances by Amarillo College’s large and small music ensembles, highlighting the rich rhythms and vibrant melodies of Latin-American culture. Three local food trucks — El Jarohito, Yum Yum Hibachi, and Tru Bru — will be on site, offering treats to enjoy throughout the evening.
“The Fiesta Concert is one of our favorite traditions,” said Camille D. Nies, chair of music and theatre and professor of music at Amarillo College. “It gives our students the chance to share a joyful, culturally rich program with the community, and we love seeing families and friends gather to enjoy great music in a beautiful outdoor setting.”
The concert is free and open to the public.
