"Spring Awakening" Set to Open May 1 at Amarillo College

Amarillo College Theatre will present Spring Awakening, book and lyrics by Steven Sater and music by Duncan Sheik, the winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical.

Spring Awakening set for May 1-10 is a powerful and electrifying rock musical that explores the turbulent journey from adolescence to adulthood, blending themes of morality, sexuality, and self-discovery.

Spring Awakening is raw, honest, and deeply human,” said Carissa Wilson, Amarillo College instructor of theatre arts and director of the production. “It challenges both performers and audiences to confront difficult topics while also celebrating the urgency and intensity of youth. This show invites our community into a conversation that is just as relevant today as ever.”

Performances will be held May 1–2 and May 7–9 at 7:30 p.m. and a matinee on May 10 at 3 p.m. in the AC Experimental Theatre, Washington Street Campus.

Tickets can be purchased online at info.actx.edu/theatretickets or at the Experimental Theatre box office (cash, check, and credit cards accepted).
