Amarillo College names Ramon Suarez Jr. Vice President of Administrative Services
Amarillo College has selected Ramon Suarez Jr., a seasoned executive with more than 30 years of leadership experience in finance, operations, and strategic planning, to serve as its new Vice President of Administrative Services. He will begin his role on August 10th.
As Vice President of Administrative Services, Suarez will lead the College’s financial and administrative operations, including finance, budgeting, procurement, facilities, risk management, information technology, and the bookstore and cafe. He will also oversee long-range financial planning, capital investments, and operational initiatives that support the College’s strategic priorities and student success.
“Ramon brings a wealth of experience and strategic perspective that will strengthen Amarillo College as we continue advancing our mission of transforming lives and communities,” said Dr. Jamelle Conner, president of Amarillo College. “His leadership will help us build on our commitment to sound financial management, strategic investment, and operational excellence while positioning the College for a strong and sustainable future.”
Suarez earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Dallas. His career includes executive leadership roles across education, energy, manufacturing, retail, advisory services, nonprofit organizations, and both public and private companies.
Known for his collaborative, servant leadership style, Suarez is committed to building high-performing teams and sustainable operational strategies. A former basketball coach, he brings a team-oriented mindset and passion for mentoring. He and his wife have family roots in Amarillo, where their daughter and her family live.
