AC Invites Community Input Through Master Planning Open House

Amarillo College is inviting community members to share their ideas and perspectives as the College develops a comprehensive master plan to guide the future of its campuses and facilities.

A Master Plan Open House will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2 in the lobby on the second floor of the College Union Building on AC’s Washington Street Campus. Community members are invited to stop by during the event to learn more about the planning process and share their input about AC’s facilities, programs, services and future needs.

The master planning process is part of AC’s Dream 2031 Strategic Plan and is designed to evaluate the College’s campus facilities and real estate to ensure its physical resources support the strategic goals of the institution and the needs of its students, employees and community.

AC has contracted Broaddus Planning, LLC, to lead the master planning process. A key component of the firm’s work is gathering input from the people who use and interact with Amarillo College and its campuses.

Community members who cannot attend the Open House also can provide feedback through a short online questionnaire. The questionnaire asks participants to identify strengths, challenges and priorities that should be considered as AC plans for the future.

The feedback gathered through the Open House, questionnaire and other engagement opportunities will help inform the development of recommendations for future changes and improvements across Amarillo College’s campuses.
