AC Transfer Fair offers students valuable opportunity to compare universities

Tranfer FairThe Transfer Fair is from 10 a.m. — 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7 on the first floor of the Ware Student Commons on the Washington Street Campus.

“Most of our students come to AC with the goal of transferring to a university,” said AC President Russell Lowery-Hart. “We are committed to helping them achieve their desires by creating robust relationships with universities and making the transfer process simple and easy.

“The Transfer Fair is an important commitment to our students,” he said.

Students who attend the fair can explore transfer options, compare programs and costs, and make valuable connections. They can also register to win a Kindle Fire or one of two $750 scholarships to be given away.

Ernesto Olmos, director of advising, said the Transfer Fair is a valuable resource for all students at AC, not just those who are nearing graduation.

“This event is just as important for our new freshmen as it is for anyone,” Olmos said. “It is never too early to start thinking about transferring, and at this fair you can ask the experts very specific questions — about programs of study, scholarship opportunities, tuition costs and expenses, and life on campus.

“A lot of students who attend our Transfer Fair discover great options they had no idea existed,” Olmos said. “This is the sort of event that opens a lot of eyes.”

Here is the list of universities scheduled to be in attendance at AC’s Spring Transfer Fair:

Angelo State; Eastern New Mexico; Hardin-Simmons; Oklahoma Panhandle State; Texas A&M; Texas Tech; Texas Tech Health Sciences School of Pharmacy; UT-San Antonio; Wayland Baptist; West Texas A&M; and the West Texas A&M College of Business.
