Panhandle PBS, Palace to Host ‘COFFEE The Universal Language’ Watch Party Oct. 22
Panhandle PBS and Palace Coffee will host a community watch party at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22 at Palace Coffee at 2646 Wolflin in Amarillo, featuring an episode of COFFEE The Universal Language that explores the local business and the people, partnerships and community connections behind it.
The episode also features The 806 in Amarillo and Herencia Coffee in Dumas, highlighting how three distinct coffee shops serve their communities and create spaces for conversation, connection and local pride.
For Patrick and Krystal Burns, Palace owners, the story goes beyond coffee. It reflects a marriage, a family and a shared commitment to building a business rooted in the Texas Panhandle. After spending several years away from Amarillo, the couple returned to raise their family and create a welcoming destination for residents and travelers.
“We wanted to create the kind of place that felt unmistakably at home here: welcoming, thoughtful, and good enough to make both locals and travelers take notice,” Krystal said.
Filming brought a new perspective to the owners’ work and relationship, allowing the production team to capture the partnership behind Palace rather than simply the business itself.
“Coffee may be the universal language in the cup, but the deeper language is belonging,” Patrick said.
The project also fostered friendships among the people featured in the series, demonstrating how stories about community can create even more connections.
The watch party is free and open to the public and will give attendees an opportunity to experience the Palace episode together and celebrate the people and places that make the region distinctive. If you’re unable to attend the watch party, the episode will air on Panhandle PBS at 7 p.m. Oct. 22.
The entire second season of COFFEE The Universal Language will begin airing on Panhandle PBS at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, with new episodes airing Saturdays.
