Amarillo College Chautauqua to Explore Pursuit of Happiness Nov. 11
Amarillo College invites the community to its final Chautauqua: Conversations About Be-ing Human event of the fall semester, “In the Pursuit of Happy-ness,” from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11 in the Oak Room of the College Union Building on AC’s Washington Street Campus.
The discussion will explore the pursuit of happiness, examining what it means to live a fulfilling life and how happiness is shaped by personal experiences, relationships, education and society.
A panel of AC and West Texas A&M University faculty and professionals will guide attendees through the evening’s conversation:
- Daniel Bloom, Ph.D., professor of philosophy, WTAMU
- Rashmi Pillai, business technology, AC
- Ryan Francis, education consultant
- Adam Aguayo, senior success coach, Academic Services, AC
“Happiness is a fundamental part of the human experience, shaping how people find meaning, build relationships and navigate life’s challenges,” said Dr. Robert Fulton, Chautauqua coordinator and associate professor of humanities. “The discussion will explore what happiness means, how it is influenced by individual and collective experiences, and why the pursuit of a fulfilling life remains a central question across cultures and generations.”
Attendees can expect engaging discussion, live music courtesy of the AC Music Department, refreshments beginning at 5:15 p.m. and a welcoming space for learning and connection. Admission is free and open to the public.
The Chautauqua: Conversations About Be-ing Human series is designed to create real conversations on real topics about being human. The fall series included “My Generation/s” in September and “Civil (Dis)Obedience” in October.
