AC Celebrates with a Veterans Day Concert Nov. 11
Amarillo College invites the community to an evening of reflection and music at “Heroes and Martyrs, Idols and Mentors” set to begin at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11 in the Concert Hall Theatre on AC’s Washington Street campus.
Presented in honor of Veterans Day, the Keep Us Live Arts Performance Series event, celebrates the lives and legacies of those who have shaped the national spirit, featuring songs of remembrance, gratitude, and patriotic pride. Dr. Robert Hansen, voice, and Steve Simpson, piano, will lead the performance, inviting the audience to sing along and join in honoring these inspiring figures.
The performance promises moving moments of reflection and tribute to those who have shaped our nation.
“This program is a heartfelt tribute to the heroes who have inspired and continue to inspire us” said Camille D. Nies, chair of music and theatre and professor of music at Amarillo College. “Through music, we remember their sacrifices, celebrate their achievements, and honor the mentors who have guided our nation. We want all of those who have served, including current students, community members, and their families, to know that they are appreciated.”
Support for the Keep Us Live Arts Performance Series allows Amarillo College to continue presenting outstanding music, art and theatre experiences for the community. The concerts are free and open to the public, and the series returns with additional performances on March 3, April 7, and May 5.
