AC to Host Open House for Newly Remodeled Library & Writers’ Corner

Amarillo College invites students, faculty, staff, and the community to explore its newly remodeled Library and Writers’ Corner during a special Open House from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10. The celebration will take place on the third floor of Ware Student Commons at AC’s Washington Street Campus.

Guests are encouraged to tour the updated facilities, discover new resources, and see how Amarillo College continues to create inspiring spaces for student success.

At the Library, visitors will find an extensive collection of books and eBooks, powerful research databases, and personalized support for class projects. The remodeled space also offers comfortable quiet study rooms and upgraded technology to help students focus and thrive.

The Writers’ Corner, now also located on the third floor of Ware, provides supportive feedback and one-on-one guidance to writers at every stage of the process. Whether students are brainstorming, drafting, or polishing their work, the Writers’ Corner is designed to help them grow as confident communicators.

“Both the Library and Writers’ Corner are essential to helping students succeed in college and beyond,” said Melissa Eder, AC’s Library director. “We are proud to offer updated spaces that meet today’s learners’ needs while continuing our mission to support academic achievement.”

The AC Library is open to the public for people who have a library card in good standing with a Harrington Library Consortium library and they can check out books. The library computers and other services are solely for the AC community.
