Amarillo College to Host Día de los Muertos Celebration and Student Art Show

Amarillo College will celebrate Día de los Muertos with an opening reception featuring student artwork and live music from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, in the Common Lobby of the Concert Hall Theater on AC’s Washington Street Campus.

The free, public event will showcase stories and drawings by AC art students in honor of Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, a Mexican tradition that celebrates and remembers loved ones who have died.

The opening reception will feature music by the AC Mariachi Orchestra. The student art exhibit will remain on display through Monday, Dec. 7.

One of the featured works is Reunidos en la Memoria by AC student Ariana Urias.

The celebration is free and open to everyone.
