Course Description

A continuation of AVNC 1343. This course is designed as a study of practical experience in the installation of avionics systems in aircraft, mounting electronic equipment, construction and installation of electrical wiring and cables, proper use of tools and selection of materials.

Student Performance

List and describe industry standards and practices for installation of avionics systems onboard aircraft; identify common avionics installation and repair hand tools; identify standard installation and mounting hardware; list and describe the technical documentation required to design, fabricate, assemble, install and maintain avionics equipment; apply electrical wiring fabrication principles, conventions, and techniques to attach common connectors to coaxial cables; demonstrate use of common hand tools and soldering equipment to remove and replace electrical wires and contacts from connectors and terminals; demonstrate use of variety of test equipment to locate faults in wiring harnesses.
