  2. \
  3. \ Identify operation, truth tables, and logic symbols for AND, OR, NOT, NAND, NOR, XOR, and XNOR gates.
  4. \
  5. \ Simplify multiple logic gate circuits using Boolean algebra
  6. \
  7. \ Simplify multiple logic gate circuits using Karnaugh mapping
  8. \
  9. \ Determine the proper operation of digital encoder and decoder circuits
  10. \
  11. \ Determine the proper operation of RS, J-K and D-type flip-flop circuits
  12. \
  13. \ Determine the proper operation of one-shot, monostable, astable, and bistable multivibrator circuits

Grading Criteria

\
\

\
\ \

\ GRADABLE ITEMS:

\

\ Your report card grade is based upon objective documentation consisting of the laboratory experiments, your course notebook, any unit or midterm exams and the final exam. Students present in class when an exam is given are required to take the exam. Students are required to take the final exam. Students who do not take the final exam will receive a grade of “F”. Students who violate safety rules resulting in injury to themselves or others person or damage to school or property will receive a grade of “F”. Cell phone calculators or cell phone applications cannot be used on tests and exams.

\

\

\

\

\ DUE DATES:\

\ All work has a due date as shown on the course schedule. All labs and any make up work must be completed the week prior to the final exam.

\

\ GRADE CALCULATION:

\

\ The student’s numerical course grade will be calculated according to the following:

\

\ Labs = 50%

\

\ Course notebook = 10%

\

\ Unit exams or Midterm exam = 20%

\

\ Final exam = 20%

\

\ The student’s course numerical grade will be converted to a course letter grade according to the following scale:

\

\ A = 90 – 100%

\

\ B = 80 – 89.x%

\

\ C = 70 – 79.x%

\

\ D = 60 – 69.x%

\

\ DROP DEADLINE:

\

\ The deadline for dropping the course is published in the Amarillo College Class Schedule. Students who stop attending class and do not drop the course by this date will receive a grade of “F”.

\

\ INSTRUCTOR’S STATEMENT:

\ MAKEUP POLICY:
\
\ Students who miss gradable coursework due to absence will be given the opportunity to make up the missed work except for the final exam. The final exam may be taken early if prior arrangements are made. It is the responsibility of the student to contact the instructor as soon as possible after return to class to arrange to make up missed coursework.
\
\

Attendance

\ Amarillo College policy states that students must attend class and that attendance is the responsibility of the student.
\
\ A student is credited with attendance when present for roll call and remains in class until dismissed by the instructor.
\
\ Attendance in scheduled lab time is required and roll will be taken in lab.
\
\ Excused absences are neither recorded nor used for any purpose since the grading policy already provides limited opportunity to make up missed work.
\
\ Statistical analysis shows that, on average, college students drop one letter grade for each absence simply because students fail to cover any missed material or activities.
\
\ This attendance policy will be relaxed during periods of adverse weather when roads are slick from ice or snow. Your safety is more important than an absolute requirement to attend class. Use common sense. You will have sufficient opportunity to make up missed work.

Calendar

\ Written and/or Lab Exams required as shown on course schedule

\ Final exam required as shown on course schedule

\ Tentative course outline will be given to students in class and is subject to change by Instructor).
