Supplies

  1. One USB drive (minimum of 1 GB capacity).
  2. Note taking materials (pen or pencial and paper).

Student Performance

Students will apply their basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, application software, utilities, Internet and World Wide Web use, Web browsers, e-mail basics, computer storage techniques, and file management. Students will also gain experience using AC specific software—ANGEL, AC website, and WebAdvisor.

The student will be able to complete satisfactorily all the Learning Outcomes with a competency level based on the completion of required examinations administered under the supervision of the instructor and evaluated according to the instructors grading scale in the Office Administration Department.

  1. Utilize basic computer terminology.
  2. Understand computer hardware.
  3. Develop confidence with computer application software, operating systems, and online learning management system (Angel). Utilities will also be emphasized.
  4. Navigate through the AC website.
  5. Practice file management/maintenance.
  6. Develop proficiency in accessing the Internet and e-mail services through Web browsers.

Grading Criteria

60% = Performance Assessments/Projects
30% = Lab Assignments/Homework
10% = Final Exam

Attendance

Regular attendance is necessary for satisfactory achievement. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the student to attend class.
