\ Textbooks are not required.
\ Workout clothes, tennis shoes, paper and pens.
By the end of the semester the student will be able to satisfactorily complete all of the listed learning objectives with a minimum 70% competency level based upon regular participation in moderate fitness activities and completion of required assignments. Also the student will:
1. Complete a medical history assessment and a pre and post fitness evaluation.
2. Set specific long term and short term goals and monitor progress throughout the semester.
3. Keep a daily log of exercise activities.
4. Define frequency, intensity, and duration of exercise.
5. Identify a weight training program and progress through it during the semester.
6. Demonstrate proper weight training exercises for each muscle group.
7. Complete a pre and post strength evaluation.
8. Learn the effects of types of training methods of the body and to demonstrate those methods.
9. Become familiar with weight training equipment for weight training program and cardio
training equipment for warm-up/cardio training.
10. Acquire essential skills for making positive behavior changes in the areas of Nutrition,
Fitness, Stress Management and Weight Management
11. Choose and participate in a weight training program throughout the semester.
12. Complete a Physical Activity Readiness Questionaire(PAR-Q) form.

You will be required to scan in each time you visit the facility. To do this, you must have a current student ID. You must bring your ID card with you each time you visit the facility to gain access at the front desk.

\ Makeup classes must be arranged with instructor. In order to makeup a class you will need to fill out a Class Makeup sheet at the front desk of the Carter Fitness Center. The sheet will be placed in my Carter Fitness mailbox after you makeup the class.
