Student Performance

  1. List risk factors that may result in disease.
  2. Identify factors causing sexual problems.
  3. Describe basic human needs and factors working against.
  4. Identify and describe stress causing factors and how to deal with them.
  5. Identify all stages of the pregnancy process from birth control to birth and give the name and prevention of STDs.
  6. List factors affecting the care of the dying, the emotional reaction to death, and the grieving process.
  7. Identify stages of alcoholism and drug dependency from casual use to addiction (includes smoking).
  8. List factors concerning a sound personal fitness program.
  9. Identify the four basic food groups, and list some foods in each.
  10. Describe the differences between communicable and non-communicable diseases and list examples of each.
  11. List basic safety and accident prevention techniques in our daily lives.

\ This course is divided into eight units. Tests will be administered online through WebCT.
\ The grading schedule is as follows:

\ I. Test #1............................20% 100 - 90 = A
\ II. Test #2............................20% 89 - 90 = B
\ III. Test #3............................20% 79 - 70 = C
\ IV. Test #4............................20% 69 - 60 = D
\ V. Quizzes/Participation.......20% 59 or below = F

\ Make-up tests must be scheduled with the instructor.

Attendance

\ The class facilitator is Stephanie Wilkinson.  All class meetings are online.  Regular attendance is necessary for satisfactory achievement. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the student to attend class.
