Students will:

    -Gain familiarity with drawing terminology
    -Work with a variety of drawing tools
    -Be able to apply the Principles of Design to their drawings
    -Apply a variety of techniques in drawing
    -Solve visual problems and create dynamic compositions
    -Utilize techniques emphasizing accurate, expressive, and conceptual approaches.
    -Discuss their work in verbal and/or written form
    -Present work for grading in a professional manner, as directed by the instructor
    -Participate meaningfully in critique
    -Maintain a professional and respectful attitude
    -Maintain classroom facilities and shared supplies

Expected Student Behavior

\ All students are expected to act in a professional manner. Sub par behavior is not tolerated, negatively effects one’s grade, and can result in expulsion from class. Following instruction, accepting critique, paying attention, punctuality, bringing the required materials, and prompted discussion during class are beneficial. Laziness, unwarranted talking, cellphone use, sleeping, eating, or rudeness are detrimental.

Attendance

\ Attendance is critical to success in this class. Students are expected to sign in at the beginning of class and stay through the entirety of the class to get credit for that day. Leaving early or tardiness accumulate and effect one’s attendance. Each student is allowed three absences, and every absence after drops one’s attendance by a grade point.
