Weekly Lesson Plans:
\
Each week an area author will speak to the class during the first half of the evening, sharing his or her story, maybe reading some passages of his or her work, giving some writing tips and answering questions from students. After a break, students will get into groups and share their writings for the week; also at this time, they will take part in periodic writing exercises at the discretion of the instructor.
\

\
Journals:
\
You will keep a writing journal in which you may chronicle your writing experience, your thoughts about writing, things you are learning and ideas you have for future projects. The instructor may take these up from time to time but will not read every entry. Sometimes, you will be asked to share a portion of the journal in a small group with classmates.
