Course Description

Career related activities encountered in the student’s area of specialization are offered through a cooperative agreement between the college, employer and student. Under supervision of the college and the employer, the student combines classroom learning with work experience. Directly related to a technical discipline, specific learning objectives guide the student through the paid work experience.

Student is required to obtain an External Learning Agreement (Part I and II) from the instructor for this course at the first designated class meeting.

Student Performance

As outlined in the learning plan, apply the theory, concepts, and skills involving specialized materials, tools, equipment, procedures, regulations, laws, and interactions within and among political, economic, environmental, social, and legal systems associated with the occupation and the business/industry and will demonstrate legal and ethical behavior, safety practices, interpersonal and teamwork skills, and appropriate written and verbal communication skills using the terminology of the occupation and the business/industry.

If you are an active staff or faculty member according to Human Resources, use "Exchange". All other students, use "AC Connect (Google) Email".

Expected Student Behavior

Cell phones should be silenced during class meetings and interviews.

Food and drink may be allowed in non-computer lecture classes, but is not allowed in any computer labs.

Grading Criteria

Students will receive a letter grade according to the following criteria:

External Learning Agreement - Part I      50%

External Learning Agreement - Part II     50%

A=90-100;   B=80-89;   C=70-79;   D=60-69;   F=Below 60 

Attendance

Attendance in class is regarded as a requirement and obligation for learning. Students are expected to attend scheduled class times.

Please remenber that the last day to officially drop this course is November 16, 2011. If you stop attending class and fail to officially drop the course by this date, you will receive an "F" for the course.

It is the responsibility of the student to gain any materials missed during regularly scheduled class time cause by their absence(s).
