Student Performance

\ After completing forty (40) hours of skill building in the ACcess Learning Center student should be able to pass one or more sections of the placement test, GED or a departmental entrance exam.

\

\ The ACcess Learning Center is designed to help students build their basic skills in math, reading, and/or writing in order to be successful in courses needed to meet degree/certificate requirements or in order to pass entry level tests prior to entering a certain program. Skills are built through individualized, computer-assisted instruction in conjunction with a wide array of supplemental materials to assist in skill development. The flexibility of the program allows students to work in the Center around their personal schedules. Students will demonstrate an improvement in one or more areas of reading, writing, and/or math.

Attendance

 

The last date to drop this semester is April  19, 2012.  Dropping or withdrawing from a class may affect scholarship or financial aid, so check with a counselor or an advisor before you withdraw from any class.

This is a self-paced program which includes  basic, intermdiate, and advanced reading,basic and advanced crtical thinking, and accuplacer test skills.  The student will be given a pre-review in each area. After pre-testing, student will follow an individualized plan on the flow-chart.

** The schedule is tentative. Students are allowed to complete more than the required amount of weekly hours if they wish to finish the course early. Once the student has completed the required number of hours and testing, he/she is finished.
