Course Description

Fundamentals of distribution systems including single-phase, three-phase and poly-phase systems. Grounding, circuit breakers, ground fault protection devices and the National Electric Code.

Expected Student Behavior

\ It is the policy of the Industrial Maintainence Technology Department that food and drinks be allowed in the classroom setting, but will not be allowed in the shop and lab areas.

\ It is the policy of the instructor that all cell phones will be turned off during all classroom, shop and lab activities. Cell phone calculators will not be allowed for use in the classroom, shop, or lab.

\ Students who miss gradeable classroom coursework due to an excused absence will be given the opportunity to make up the missed work or test. It is the student's responsibility to make the arrangements to make up the work, within a reasonable time. An absence is considered as being excused when it is work related, an emergency, or considered as justifiable by the instructor. If you know you are going to be absent or late, notify the instructor as soon as possible.

Attendance

\ Attendance  in class and lab is regarded as a requirement and an obligation for learning. It is the student's responsibility to gain missed lecture notes through outside reading and/or notes from other students. A student is credited with attendance when present for the start of class and remains in class until dismissed by the instructor. The attendance policy may be relaxed during periods of adverse weather as stated in the Amarillo College policy for adverse weather conditions. Listen for communications through local media outlets.

\ Please remember the deadline for dropping a class is published in the official Amarillo College Schedule of classes. If you stop attending a class and do not officially drop the class by the published deadline, you will receive an 'F' for the course.
