  1. \ Students are required to adhere to Amarillo College Student Code of Conduct as outlined in the publication Student Rights and Responsibilities.  Students failing to perform according to established standards may be subject to disciplinary action.

  3. \ Students are expected to arrive to class on time and prepared. 
  4. \
  5. \ Disruptive behavior, such as leaving and reentering the classroom, carrying on private conversations, etc., is not conducive to a proper learning environment and will not be tolerated.

  7. \ Cell phones, pagers and mp3 players must be silenced and put away during all class periods.
  8. \
  9. \ Exams will be handed out at the beginning of class.  Students arriving late may begin the exam on arrival, but will have the same turn-in deadline as everyone else in the class. Students are responsible for their own Scantron sheets (available in the bookstore) and pencils.

  11. \ Satisfactory performance for this course requires the completion of all reading assignments and in-class activities.

Grading Criteria

  1. The final grade for this course is based on two (2) exams for a total of 200 points.
  2. Makeup on exams will be decided on an individual basis and must be taken within 1 week.  The maximum grade that can be earned on a makeup exam is 80%.
  3. There will be no extra credit offered in this course.
  4. The number of points earned by a student will be divided by the maximum possible points for the course.  The result will be expressed as a percent and converted to a final letter grade.  The grading scale for this course is:
    A = 90-100
    B = 80-89
    C = 70-79
    F = less than 70

Attendance

\ Regular attendance is necessary for satisfactory achievement.  Therefore, it is the responsibility of the student to attend class. In the event of an unavoidable absence, it is the responsibility of the student to obtain missed lecture notes and arrange for make-up exams.
