The final grade will be calculated as follows:

Exam Grades = 50%
\
Daily Grades = 25%
\
Final Exam = 25%
\ Compositions count as exams. If a student doesn't turn in a required composition, he or she will receive a 0 for that exam grade.
\\ Make up exams will not be given. The lowest exam grade will be dropped. If you miss more than one test, you will receive a 0 for the test missed.
\\ In order to take the ACCUPLACER test that corresponds to the course, the student must be in good standing at the time the test is given. Good standing means that the student must have a semester grade average of at least 70, must not have withdrawn from the class, and must not have exceeded the limit of absenses as stated in this syllabus. A score of at least a 6 on the ACCUPLACER essay or a score of 5 on the essay with at least 80 points on the objective portion of the ACCUPLACER test will assure a passing grade for the semester.
\ Please limit absences to no more than 5 a semester. Additional absences can affect your final grade in the class. If you stop attending class and do not formally withdraw, you will receive an F.
