After completing the course, students will be familiar with the following: (1) performing responsibilities of an administrative professional; (2) applying time management skills; (3) processing incoming/outgoing mail; (4) filing; (5) making travel arrangements; (6) preparing for business meetings; (7) preparing for the job search process; (8) applying business ethics; (9) producing mailable business documents; and (10) applying grammar rules.
The student will be able to complete satisfactorily all of the listed Performance Learning Objectives with a competency level based on the completion of required examinations administered under the supervision of the instructor and evaluated according to the instructors grading scale.

10 POINTS WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM EACH GRADE FOR EACH WEEK THE WORK IS LATE.
You may keep your Job Application project when graded. All other assignments will be kept by the instructor. Papers will not be recorded until they are returned to the instructor. If you fail to return graded assignments the same class period, you will receive a Zero for that assignment grade.
If you have NO absences or no tardies with ALL work turned in, you will have three additional points added to your final course grade.
NO file copies are necessary on ANY assignment EXCEPT the mailable letter units. Envelopes are required on the mailable letter units ONLY.
The computer lab is available several days a week for computer use. The times will be announced in class.
The third floor of the AC Library is also available for student use. Check Schedules.
Employees in the business world are expected to be at work promptly each day; therefore, students in business classes are expected to be in class promptly each day. This class meets once each week. After three absences for any reason, one point will be deducted from the semester average for each additional absence (4+). There are no excused absences. Three tardies equal one absence. If you leave class for any reason while the class is being conducted, it will be counted as a tardy.
