1. The student will be able to list and analyze the responsibilities of the different production positions.
2. The student will be able to demonstrate operation of audio production equipment, including Adobe
Audition computer software, control consoles, analog and digital recorders.
3. The student will be able to use the internet in conjunction with the text, to support learning and
evaluation.
4. The student will produce a 30 second commercial spot for radio using audio production computer
software provided in the lab.
5. The student will be able to demonstrate production techniques in audio.
6. The student will be able to list the basic operational parts of the studio camera and explain the function
of each.
7. The student will be able to demonstrate the operation of the studio camera.
8. The student will be able to demonstrate good camera composition.
9. The student will be able to describe, produce and name the basic camera shots.
10. The student will be able to describe and demonstrate the key concepts of studio lighting.
11. The student will be able to identify the types and uses of various microphones.
12. The student will be able to display a basic knowledge of studio production equipment; including the
switcher, audio console, videotape recorder and character generator.
13. The student will display responsibility and care in the use of equipment and material.
14. The student will be able to demonstrate basic operation of a video switcher including cuts, dissolves,
fades, keys and special effects.
15. The student will serve in all TV production crew positions by participation in producing, directing,
switching, directing audio, generating character/graphics by computer, managing studio floor, operating
camera, operating video recorder and set up/break down of television studio equipment.
16. The student will produce and direct one 90 second music video that either tells a story or makes a
statement and one 30/60 second live-on-tape TV commercial.
17. The student, when acting as Producer/Director, will demonstrate skills in scheduling, delegating crew
members responsibilities, and professionalism; including self control, friendliness and understanding.
