Prerequisites: CETT 1425 and sophomore standing in Electronics Engineering Technology or instructor consent
Principles of electrical/electronic design encompassing schematics wiring diagrams, materials lists, operating characteristics, completion schedules and cost estimates. Laboratories to accompany the material in sophomore Electronics Engineering Technology courses.

No Text – Course Materials will be presented in individual meetings.
Students will require Pentel type pencils, Engineering notebook and a 2" binder. Project kits are optional.
Build a project using the principles of the electrical/electronic design process; write an operations procedure of an electrical/electronic project; and demonstrate the operation or function of an electrical/electronic project.
A research paper may be substituded for the above project.

It is the policy of the Career and Technical Education Division and the Renewable Energy Program that pagers and cell phones must be turned off or in silent mode in the classroom setting and pagers and cell phones must be turned off while in labs.

The opportunity to make-up an exam and/or lab will be determined by the circumstances of each individual, permitted at the discretion of the instructor.
The time and place for make-up test will be determined by the instructor.
Students who miss gradable coursework due to an absence will be given the opportunity to make up the missed work, with the exception of the final exam. The final exam may be taken early, if prior arrangements have been made. It is the responsibility of the student to contact the instructor as soon as possible after return to class to arrange to make up missed coursework.
INSTRUCTOR'S STATEMENT: As your instructor, I am always willing to discuss your grades with you and explain how your grade was determined. If a grading error has been made on my part, I am always willing to correct the error.
Grades for project will be based upon ABET Engineering criteria.
Attendance in class is regarded as requirement, and obligation for learning. Please remember the deadline for dropping a class at AC is published in the official Amarillo College Schedule of Classes and is April 19, 2012. If you stop attending class and do not officially drop the course by this deadline, you will receive an “F” for the course.
Students will be warned and after two (2) absences and counseled by the instructor after three (3) absences.
Being tardy three (3) times will be considered one (1) absence.
Four (4) unexcused absences in any one semester may be cause for students to receive a failing grade for the course. Six (6) total absences (excused/or non-excused will automatically result in the student dropping one (1) letter grade for the course unless otherwise indicated by the instructor.
It is the responsibility of the student to make up any work missed due to absences and to gain missed lecture notes through outside reading and/or note from classmates.
Make up examinations (and other assignments) will be permitted at the discretion of the instructor. The time and place for make-up test will be determined by the instructor.
If you are going to be late or absent, please notify the instructor as soon as possible.
The student shall meet with the instructor on Monday, January 23, 2012. At that time research assignments will be assigned. Additionally, the instructor will be available for dissicussion about project. The student will make an appointment to meet with instructor. No formal classes will meet for the semester. Research projects will be due on April 30 th 2012. Projects will not be accepted after that date.
Last Day to withdraw from 16-week classes is April 19, 2012. Check with instructor before dropping class.
