Student Performance

Purpose of this course: This course will introduce the student to radio broadcasting.  Student will learn basic production, FCC rules and regulations, programming, station organization and proper equipment usage.

Expected Student Behavior

School and Government Policy: Due to the nature of the radio industry (government licensed), it is imperative that you understand and follow both school policy and FCC regulations regarding the operation of KACV-FM.  You must sign and return 1) The attached form and 2) the form attached to the operations manual. Both must be turned in immediately.  Failure to follow these rules will result in withdrawal from the class.  NO EXCUSES!

Grading Criteria

Lab- 1000 points
\ 400 points-16 Board Shifts (25 points each) (at least one per week)
\ 200 points-2 Airchecks (100 points each)
\ 400 points- Attendance, Professionalism, Teamwork and Skill Acquisition

\ Lecture-1000 points
\ 400 points-4 Tests (100 points each)
\ 200 points- Research Paper
\ 200 points-Remote set up by student
\ 200 points-Attendance (points deducted after 3 absences)

\ Attitude-Behavior/Attitude problems will result in a 25-point deduction for each offense.

Assignments should be turned in when due.  An excuse for missing an assignment will be considered on an individual basis.
