Course Description

A study of and practical experience in the installation of avionic systems in aircraft, mounting electronic equipment, construction and installation of electrical wiring and cables, proper use of tools and selection of materials.

Student Performance

\ Upon successful completion of this course of study the student shall:

\ 1. Understand the concepts of basic electricity and its application to the aviation industry.
\ 2. Apply basic rules when working with static discharge.
\ 3. Apply and understanding of the use of electrical diagrams.
\ 4. Apply safety concepts and rules when working with electrical components and wiring.
\ 5. Identify electrical measuring instruments and there application.
\ 6. Demonstrate knowledge in the use of soldering in an electrical environment.
\ 7. Perform a basic knowledge of electrical wiring and its application in the aviation industry.
\ 8. Perform component installation and removal.
\ 9. Understand a basic knowledge of the use of fiber optics and its use.

Attendance

Missing two full class periods in this course will cause the deduction of ONE FULL LETTER GRADE. The amount of attendance points are awarded per class and per the instructor. Late attendance and early departure is highly discouraged. Sleeping in class in considered NON-ATTENDANCE.
