\ 1. Increase pronunciation skills. 2. Increase vocabulary and vocabulary building skills through context. 3. Improve skills in recognizing, understanding, and correctly using common idioms. 4. Practice discussing current events and issues in small and large group discussions. 5. Learn to develop and refine notetaking skills. 6. Improve oral/aural skills which will enable the student to comfortably speak to others in and outside of class.

A = 90-100 Excellent; B = 80-89 Good; C = 70-79 Fair; D = 60-69 Failing. One hour of lab per week is required.
The final grade will be calculated as follows:
Exam Grades = 50%
Daily Grades = 25%
Final Exam = 25%
Make up exams will not be given. If you miss more than one test, you will receive a 0 for the test missed.
\ Please limit absences to no more than 5 a semester. Additional absences can affect your final grade in the class. If you stop attending class and do not formally withdraw, you will receive an F.
