Student Performance

1.   Students shall achieve an averaged score of 90% on three practice exams in each study section.

2..  Students shall achieve a score of 90% on their first attempt at the final exam. The final exam will simulate the Texas State Board Exam

93-100 = A

Attendance

Class attendance is required and will be evaluated based on online participation and testing. Students failing to take the required exams will be deemed to be absent from class. Due to the fact that this class is totally online and available continuously no absence will be allowed unless approved in advance by the instructor. Students may adapt their class participation time to match their schedule. As long as all work is submitted by assigned time students will have met the criteria for class attendance.

Additional Information

Course Requirements

Students must take and pass with an average score of 90% on three practice exams in each of the areas covered on the Texas State Board Exam. Three tests must be taken in each section during the assigned time period for that section.  There will be a cumulative final exam which students must pass with a score of 90% on their first attempt. Students who do not take the exams the required number of times and pass the exams with an average score on each section of 90% or better or who fail to take and pass the final exam with an 90% or better will receive a grade of F in this course.

Course Prerequisites

You should be in your final semester in the Certificate program. Participation in this course requires prior approval. Contact Lisa Meehan for permission to register.

Exam Policy

There will be practice exams in each of the areas of study covered on the Texas Board Exam. Exams in each study area are required to be taken a minimum of 3 times during the assigned time period and you must have an average achieved score of 90% or higher. After the initial assignment period students may continue to take the assessment for review and to improve their scores. There will be a final exam in the class which will simulate the Texas State Board Exam. Student must achieve an 90% or higher on their FIRST ATTEMPT at final exam as well as an averaged score of 90% or better on each study sections assessments to pass the class.
