A detailed study of the human organism according to levels of chemical and structural organization with special reference to cytology, histology, and organs of the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, and nervous systems and fluid and electrolyte balance.

STUDENT PERFORMANCE, COMPETENCIES AND OBJECTIVES: After studying the material presented in this course of study, the student will be able to do the following as evaluated by the faculty in the department.
In order to receive your AC Connect Email, you must log in through AC Connect at https://acconnect.actx.edu .
If you are an active staff or faculty member according to Human Resources, use "Exchange". All other students, use "AC Connect (Google) Email".
Students are expected to have prepared for lecture and lab by reading the course texts.
You must keep your returned papers in the case of any disputed records.
Cell phones are allowed in the silent or vibrate mode during regular lecture/lab. If you must take an emergency call, please leave quietly. No earphone use in class.
Cell phones must be OFF and OUT OF SIGHT during exam and quizzes. If phone use is observed a grade of ZERO will be given for the exam.
Food and drink is allowed except during dissection labs. You must clean up after yourself or risk losing a quiz grade.
Please avoid any appearance of cheating. Cheating will result in a grade of zero for the exam or quiz. No one will be allowed to begin an exam after anyone leaves the room.
If you must leave the classroom, please do so quietly. If students leaving become disruptive, the instructor will not allow returns to class.
A = 100 - 89.5%, B = 89 - 79.5%, C = 79 - 69.5%, D = 69 - 59.5%, F = 59% or less.

No makeups. No late work accepted. The dropped grades are for this purpose.
If you receive a grade of 70% or less on any major exam, you must have 30 minutes of tutoring from the Science Enrichment Center before you are allowed to sit for the next exam. I must receive notice from the lab that you have completed the tutoring. This is not negotiable.
A student who has a grievance concerning an academic course in which he or she is enrolled should make an appeal in the following order to the:

The Science Enrichment Center (SEC) is in Warren Hall, Room 110. 345-5536 .
SEC hours are 8 am to 8 pm Mon - Thurs, Fridays 8 am to 3 pm Saturdays 8 am to noon. Free tutoring is available to help you with all your science classes. Appointments are required for manditory tutoring. (Be sure to bring your AC ID). See the tutoring schedule at the SEC or on the handout you received in class.
Other resources include computers, models, microscopes and slides, and reference books, group study rooms and mock lab practicals. Be sure to drop by to find out more details and check about tutoring opportunities.
In the case of Weather Closings, please check the Amarillo College website and/or local radio and television. When in doubt, stay safe. If an exam is scheduled on a closed day, it will be given in the next class meeting. Be prepared.
