The following grading criteria will be used to determine the course grade:
A = 90-100, B = 80 - 89, C = 70 - 79, D = 60 - 69, F = below 60
Please note, grades will not be rounded. A 79.8 will be recorded as a 'C.' A grade of 89.9 will be recorded as a 'B.'
Must achieve 100% on the Level III Dosage and Solution Exam. The exam may be repeated twice prior to clinical experience. Failure to pass this exam by the third attempt will result in the inability to attend the clinical experience and meet the course objectives. This means that the student will fail the clinical course if they do not achieve a 100% on the exam by the third attempt.
Student will not be allowed to participate in the clinical experience without current immunizations, TB skin testing, and American Heart Association CPR for Healthcare Providers. It is the students' responsibility to ensure that all documentation is presented in a timely manner prior to the clinical experience. A Class II Clinical Warning will be issued for no documentation.
Students will meet the requirement of 100% attendance. No more than one (1) excused absence will be permitted. That absence will be made up on a set day as designated by the course instructor. A clinical absence of more than one (1) day may result in course failure. Planned events, vacations, and work schedules are not excused absences. Students who arrive more than 30 minutes late to clinical will be required to make up the clinical day. Students who do not make up clinical absences or miss more than one (1) clinical RNSG 2260 day in a fall, spring or summer semester may fail the clinical course.
Clinical rotations include, but are not limited to, scheduled days at the hospital, community sites with a preceptor, clinical orientation, dosage and solution exam, and clinical simulation as provided in the course calendar.
\ Course Schedule/Outline
\\ Students will have 96 hours of clinical. Clinical calendars will be distributed during the first week of class. Clinical groups will be assigned to specific blocks of time as outlined in the calendar.
