\ The ACcess Learning Center is designed to help students build basic skills in math, reading, and/or writing. Skills are built through individualized, computer-assisted instruction in conjunction with a wide array of supplemental materials to assist in skill development. The flexibility of the program allows students to work in the Center around their weekly personal schedules. An initial orientation is mandatoryprior to beginning a course of study. Assessments will be given during the first week of enrollment to determine a student’sskill level for placement in the program.

\ 20% of final grade will be based on the student meeting the weekly attendance requirement which will be a combination of hours spent working in My Foundations Lab software in the learning center as well as time spent working in My Foundations Lab outside the learning center. ** \ | \

\ 20% of final grade will be based on the student’s test average within My Foundations Lab software (which must be completed within the learning center). \ | \

\ 10% of the final grade will be based on the student’s homework average grade within My Foundations Lab software (which can be completed outside the learning center). \ | \
\ Students will be placed in the My Foundations Lab software according to information from pre-test and other assessments. Placements within the software will depend on personal academic goals.
\\ **Weekly attendance is required. You must spend at least 4 hours each week working in My Foundations Lab and working with instructors. Two (3) hours must be completed in the ACcess Learning Center and the remaining 1 hour may be completed by working on a computer outside of the learning center. Weekly hours must be completed by 11:59 pm each Sunday evening. Students will earn a weekly attendance grade of 100% for completing the entire 4 hours of time for the week or will earn a weekly attendance grade of 0% for any time under 4 hours. You may always do more work each week and complete the course early.
\ All coursework and attendance must be completed by December 8, 2013. This is the last day the lab is open for instruction. Students must report to the lab for orientation the first week of class. To fulfill attendance requirements for the class, students must work at least 4 hours per week. December 9th -12th will be used for post testing only. You must post test in order to receive a passing grade for this course. Students may finish the semester early by completing 40 hours, completing coursework, and completing the post tests.
