\ After studying the material presented in this course of study, the student will be able to do the following as evaluated by the faculty in the Office Administration program:

\

\ Complete general office assignments under the supervision of an instructor and/or administrative assistant.

\

\ Complete job-related learning objectives as assigned for each evaluation period. 

\

\ Submit a narrative summarizing the experience including such things as a diary (journal), new terminology encountered, new experiences, and activities/processes/procedures learned.

\

\
\ END-OF-COURSE OUTCOMES:  Prepare business documents; present business data in report form; and define management theories.

Expected Student Behavior

\ CELL PHONES: Please turn cell phones off before entering class.

\ FOOD/DRINKS: No food is allowed in the classroom. Drinks are allowed if you leave them on the table by the door; however, no drinks are allowed at the computer stations.

\

\ PLAGIARISM, CHEATING, AND INDIVIDUAL WORK ETHIC: The Amarillo College policies and Code of Student Conduct are strictly adhered to when dealing with plagiarism, cheating, and duplication of work product. Any evidence of plagiarism, cheating, or duplication of work product will result in a zero on the project or test in question.

Grading Criteria

\ EVALUATION:   Successfully complete three (3) External Learning Experience Student Evaluation forms (due in five-week intervals—see attachments).  The average of the three evaluation grades and how well goals were achieved equals the final course grade.

\

\ Student and instructor will complete the “Job-Related Learning Objectives” form the first day of class.

Attendance

Employees in the business world are expected to be at work promptly each day; therefore, students in business classes are expected to be in class promptly each day. This class meets twice each week. After two absences for any reason, one point will be deducted from the semester average for each two additional absences. There are no excused absences. Three tardies equal one absence. If you are more than 5 minutes late to a class, it will be counted as a tardy.
