    Notebook & Class Equipment

    Students are required to take notes during lectures and should maintain a class notebook. Notebook should contain handouts, reference material, formula sheets, test, assignments, and task list. Student shall furnish a scientific calculator, if required. Student shall furnish required text book and Handyman Pocket Handbook.

    Tools, Equipment, and Clothing

    Students shall wear appropriate clothing to perform any work task assigned. (Dress appropriately for the career you are studying) Sleeveless Shirts and open toed shoes are prohibited.

    Tools and equipment specified for this class and any preliminary class in the curriculum are to be furnished by the student.  All tools should be properly used and cared for, thus allowing for longevity and safety of both the user and the tool.

    Failure to dress for work or bring needed equipment may count as an absence.

    \ \

    Stealing, vandalism, or pilferage will be dealt with severely!! No drugs or alcohol allowed.

    \ \

    Students Attending Class under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be removed by campus security.

    All students are expected to follow the Amarillo College Students Code of Conduct. Any violation of this Code will be dealt with appropriately.

    Grading Criteria

    Course Evaluations:

    Students should complete all performance tasks on time at REQUIRED MASTERY LEVEL. Tasks, projects, and various assignments will be scored based on time; accuracy; neatness; completeness; procedure; skill; detail; motivation and attitude; safety practices; clean up; care of class equipment, and other grading criteria. No task score shall be recorded until assignment is complete. Complete shall include condition and cleanliness of equipment; clean up of work areas; tool condition and return of; all projects, supplies and materials being stored properly. Failure to bring books, notes, notebook, and equipment for a given class will result in a partial loss of grade for that class period. Unless the instructor specifies otherwise, all homework is due at the beginning of the next class.

    Attendance

     Class attendance and lab participation are regarded as requirements and obligations for learning.  Students will be expected to be in the class and seated by the start of each class period and remain until the instructor releases class.

     There are times that special circumstances arise, but the instructor needs to be made aware of these circmstances. The instructor will then decide if excuse warrants merit or not. Students are required to call Instructor prior to absence to determine if there are any special assignments, special materials or schedule changes they need to be aware of.

     It is the students responsibility to make-up any work missed due to absences. (Excused or Not), and to gain missed lecture information through outside reading and/or notes from classmates. Class assignments for the course will be handed out the first day of class and Students are expected to show instructor all completed homework at the beginning of class after an absence to gain credit. Make-up exams will be permitted for excused absences, as determined by the instructor, at the convience of the instructor. All Make-up Test will be score at -5 points unless otherwise stated by instructor.
