Principles and concepts of mental health, psychopathology and treatment modalities related to the nursing care of patients and their families. This course lends itself to a blocked approach.

\\ Regularly attend 90% of classroom experience (meaning 90% of the total hours of the class).

\\ Prepare for class and lab experiences by completing assignments prior to class.

\\ Review the “Student Test Administration Policy” in the Student Handbook.

\\ Take make-up exam within one week of the missed exam and prior to next scheduled class (or at the discretion of the instructor.)

\\ Individual students may see their responses on an exam within one week of the exam being reviewed in class by the instructor. Students wanting to review their individual responses need to schedule an appointment with the instructor.

\\ Achieve a cumulative average of 70% or above on classroom exams.
Grading criteria/grade scale
All students must access the on-line remediation through HESI Assessment after the course’s Evolve Specialty or Custom Exam. All students will develop an individualized study packet, and review all areas designated as needing improvement. Completion of remediation and development of a study packet is due by the Friday before the final exam. If it is not completed as assigned, then the student will fail the course because of a failure to complete this requirement.
