\\ Upon successful completioin of this course of study the student shall:
\\ 1. Understand the concepts of fasteners used in aviation and the applications to the aviation industry.
\\ 2. Apply a basic knowledge of the use of a machinists scale, dial caliper and micrometer.
\\ 3. Apply an understanding of fractions and decimals.
\\ 4. Apply safety concepts and rules when working with air tools and other shop equipment.
\\ 5. Identify types of aircraft fasteners and applications.
\\ 6. Demonstrate the installation of fasteners.
\\ 7. Perform a basic knowledge of fastener removal in the aviation industry.
\\ 8. Identify shim materials and perform shim installation.
\\ 9. Understand the use of blind type (cherry) rivets, hi-shear rivets, and miscellaneous type fasteners as directed.
