Course Description

Development of skills and techniques required for a comprehensive health assessment within a legal/ethical framework. Includes adult head-to-toe assessment and interviewing techniques. This course lends itself to a blocked approach.

Grading Criteria

A = 90 - 100, B = 80 - 89, C = 75 - 79, D = 60 - 74, F = below 60  

20% of the course grade is from the health assesement head-to-toe examination 

20% of the course grade is from the health assessment simulation examination

20% of the course grade is from the comprehensive computer examination

20% of the course grade is from case study

10% of the course grade is from the discussion board questions

10% of the course grade is from 3 module quizzes

 

Attendance

The class will have 3 (three) required in-class meetings on the Amarillo College West Campus.  The first is for simulation in the NRC and practice for the return demo, the third for a return demonstration of health assessment in the NRC, and the last a multiple-choice comprehensive final exam.
