Grading Criteria\
Grade points are assigned according to the performance of a student in each course as dictated by industry as follows: AttendanceAttendance and Time Policies Punctual and regular attendance is a requirement in all classroom, laboratory and shop sessions. Excused absences are: sickness or injury, with a doctor's statement or other supporting documentation. All other absences are unexcused. You must directly contact the instructor via, text, voice-mail, email, etc… Before the start of class if you are going to be late or absent. Failure to do so could result in being considered an UNEXCUSED ABSENCE. All time whether excused, unexcused or tardy will be made up at the discretion of the instructor based upon their instructional work load. Make up time and material must occur before the final exam. When unexcused absences or tardiness exceed ten percent of a course hours, students will receive the grade of "F". UNEXCUSED ABSENCES during a regular exam or final exam will result in a maximum possible test grade of 70 percent, when the test is taken. TARDINESS
Time missed by any student arriving in class after attendance is taken will be made up before he/she can take the final test.
REPEATED TARDINESS
A student's tardiness, (3 or more), may result in:
1. A written warning against further tardiness from the instructor.
2. Being placed on probation for the course.
3. Being issued a grade of "F" for the course.
The instructor may choose to begin class/lecture by securing the classroom door to prevent interruptions by late arriving students. It is in the student's best interest to be in class early.
If a student arrives late and is "locked out", he/she may rejoin the class at the next scheduled break time. Attendance begins when the student rejoins the class.
Students are not required to attend class more than eight hours per day. Calendar
Additional InformationTests / Exams and Quizzes Since it is imperative that all students utilize the computer system on a frequent basis those who cannot access their ACCONNECT / BLACKBOARD account may take an test, exam or quiz using a paper “hardcopy” document; however, will automatically receive a 3 “test / quiz point” reduction on the applicable test or quiz. All tests or exams will be scheduled in the course calendar. Quizzes are used for course or project / lab progress and may be given without being scheduled on the course calendar.
Course project / lab assignments The projects or shop / lab assignments may be worked individually or in groups. Individual projects will be graded individually on comprehension, completion and adherence to class policies and professionalism. When working with a group project each member will be graded individually on teamwork, comprehension, involvement, project completion and adherence to class policies and professionalism. Students will not receive any grade reduction whether in group or individual projects in the case that there is inadequate amount of AC materials, tooling, documentation or inoperative equipment or tooling. Unless otherwise noted (or arranged) all assignments must be turned in for grading as scheduled in the course calendar. All assignments not turned in as scheduled will receive a maximum grade of 70 percent. Syllabus Created on:11/30/-1 12:00 AM Last Edited on:11/30/-1 12:00 AM |
