Amarillo College offers services to assist you with addressing these and other concerns you may be experiencing. If you or someone you know are suffering from any of the aforementioned conditions, you can learn more about the broad range of confidential mental health services available on campus by calling the AC Counseling Center at 806-371-5900. Please speak English in the classroom at all times. Cell phones and other technology must be turned off and put away during class times unless special permission is given by the instructor. Not following these rules could lower your grade.
A = 90-100 Excellent; B = 80-89 Good; C = 70-79 Fair; D = 60-69 Failing. One hour of lab per week is required.
The final grade will be calculated as follows:
Exam Grades = 50%
Daily Grades = 25%
Final Exam = 25% (Attendance is mandatory unless a student presents a doctor's note, an immigration notice, or a notice of death.)
Make up exams will not be given. The lowest exam grade will be dropped for students with five or fewer absences. If you miss more than one test, you will receive a 0 for the test missed.
It is the student’s responsibility to complete daily work that he or she may have missed while absent from the class. If work is not completed within three days of returning to class, the student will receive a grade of zero.
If an assignment is not handed in on time, there will be an automatic deduction.
Please limit absences to no more than 5 a semester. Additional absences can result in your final average being lowered a letter grade in the class. If you stop attending class and do not formally withdraw, you will receive an F.
