Any student who, because of a disabling condition, may require some special arrangements in order to meet course requirements should contact disAbility Services (Student Service Center room 119, phone 371-5436) as soon as possible.

Grading
Bonus Points:
Late Work:
Work will not be accepted after the due date.
Class Participation: Keeping up with the latest digital trends is a must for any marketer in today’s world. Every Monday and Thursday I will post a discussion/blog on the Blackboard discussion forum. You must post your response and respond to two of your classmate’s post by Sunday night at 11:55 p.m. You are encouraged to think outside the box. DON’T just rephrase what someone else has already said and don’t just agree with me because you think it will help your grade, It won’t. Here are some other tips.
Additionally, you are required to respond to four lectures throughout the semester. Which four is up to you. Lectures will be written and delivered every Monday via Blackboard. Occasionally, lectures will include a short video. You should watch these videos as it is part of the lecture.
How the discussions will be graded:
Here’s what I’m looking for in each post.
Original Posting
1. Mentions at least 2 specific points from the blog.
2. As the semester goes on, you should be able to relate new information to old information that we’ve previously discussed.
3. Use your critical thinking skills when posting. It’s important to think outside the box.
Reply to Other’s Postings
1. Discuss one point you like/agree with, and one point you dislike/disagree with and explain why. Remember to cite your sources.
Group Work:
At the beginning of the semester, I will assign each student to a group. This will be your group for the entire semester. Each student is expected to do his/her part. Treat it like a job. At the end of each assignment, you will review your teammates – as they will you. This will count 20% on each group assignment.
Do not email me saying, “I don’t get along with so and so.” Guess what, in the real world you won’t like everyone you work with. But you will still be expected to have a professional working relationship with him or her no matter what.
Since this is an online class, you may have people in your group who live outside of Amarillo or possible the state of Texas. You can still meet via Skype or Google Hangouts.
Market Analysis: You will work in groups (see above) a to create a marketing analysis for KACV-FM (kacvfm.org). A project example will be posted on Blackboard.
FM90 Webpage Content: Each student will be assigned a band to create an artist profile webpage for kacvfm.org.
Requirements:
You will gather all this information, put it in a word document and email it to me by the due date.
Digital Strategy Project: Students will work in groups (see Group Work above) to create a digital marketing strategy for a local business. The strategy should be for all things digital (social media, website, online ads, etc.) and should be between 3-5 pages long. An example project will be posted at a later date.
Requirements:
Video Book Review: If you are needing bonus points, you are encouraged to read the book “The Thank You Economy” by Gary Vaynerchuk and then submit a video book review (4-5 minutes long). You must include two additional sources.
